Maggie grew up in the small town of Wisconsin Rapids. She was born to a loving mother with her own share of mental illnesses and an emotionally distant father. She grew up in a household filled with uncertainty, hostility, and inconsistency. Maggie then moved to the Eau Claire area around 2011, bouncing from school to school, then finally transferring to Altoona where she would later graduate. She then graduated from CVTC with a technical diploma in Cosmetology in the thick of COVID-19.
While growing up, Maggie was parentified very young. She helped care for, tend to, and in some cases raise younger siblings. In her early teenage years, she dealt with anxiety, depression, and uncontrollable anger, but never received professional help for her mental illnesses. Maggie was later diagnosed with depression, anxiety, PTSD and bipolar disorder, after multiple traumas and life-changing events.
After Maggie’s diagnosis, she worked on healing her mind and heart. Her healing today looks like working with local photographers/artists, promoting/attending local events, busy work, and making herself a top priority.
Maggie’s lived in experiences include manic depression (bipolar disorder), anxiety, depression, sexual assault recovery, family related trauma and trauma recovery.
When Maggie isn’t working, she’s typically out and about in Eau Claire, attending concerts, or hanging out at home with her fiance and friends. She dreams of seeing the entire continental U.S. and beyond. Through her lived experiences, Maggie hopes to provide support and resources to community members so they can cultivate love and happiness in their own lives.
Maggie recently got engaged to her partner, they currently have one cat together, and they fill their house with love.
