Intro to Woo: My Journey Into Energy Work

When I think about the path that has led me here, to hosting Intro to Woo, I’m reminded of how long I’ve been walking in the world of energy, intuition, and spirit. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the unseen currents that guide us. What started as curiosity soon became a way of living, a way of understanding myself.

If I trace it all the way back, my journey really began as a teenager in the 90s. While a lot of my friends were saving up for Tamagotchis or making mix tapes off the radio, I was sneaking away to flip through astrology books from the library or the back shelf of a bookstore. It wasn’t that I didn’t love the music and trends of the time, I did, but there was something about the stars, the planets, and the way energy seemed to weave through life that pulled me in.

It felt like I had stumbled onto a secret map, one that helped me understand not only the world around me but also myself on a much deeper level.

And truthfully, some of that map had already been handed to me. My grandmother was a healer in her own right; she worked with herbs, the cosmos, and the natural rhythms of life. She shared her knowledge of astrology and tarot with me, planting seeds that would grow into my lifelong curiosity and practice. She taught me to notice the subtle, to honor the earth and the sky, and to trust that wisdom often shows up in whispers before it speaks in shouts.

Over the years, that curiosity and those teachings grew into a practice. Energy work, astrology, and psychic development gave me language for what I was sensing all along. They became tools that helped me trust my inner voice, navigate challenges with more clarity, and connect more deeply with others. They also grounded me in mindfulness.

Energy work reminded me to pause before reacting, to check in with how I was really feeling, and to move through life with greater intention. It taught me that my choices ripple outward, and that when I align my energy with purpose, even the smallest actions can carry meaning.

This practice has shaped me in profound ways. It has given me compassion and patience, not just for others but for myself. It has helped me release old patterns, find balance when life feels overwhelming, and stay rooted in gratitude.

On a daily level, energy work has been like a compass, helping me return to center when I feel scattered and encouraging me to live with more presence. Whether it’s taking a breath before I start my day, setting intentions before a conversation, or noticing the quiet nudges of intuition, energy work has made my life more mindful, connected, and full of wonder.

That’s why Intro to Woo feels so meaningful. It’s not just a class or a workshop, it’s a beginning. A beginning into remembering the part of yourself that already knows, into learning tools that can help you grow, and into connecting with a community of people who are walking their own paths of discovery.

For me, “woo” is about seeing more clearly. It’s about listening to the whispers of intuition, honoring your energy, and finding guidance that helps you live with purpose and joy.

My hope is that by sharing my story and creating this space, you’ll feel inspired to step into your own “woo” moment. To explore, to remember, and to reconnect with the wisdom that’s already within you and to bring that wisdom into your everyday life in ways that help you feel more grounded, intentional, and free.
