CHi, I’m Bekky. I came to peer support at a point where I was rethinking everything after a long-term career ended. I realized that what mattered most to me was connection - being able to sit with someone, be real, and share from lived experience in a way that might actually help. I’ve moved through my own challenges with recovery, self-worth, identity, and learning how to take care of myself, and I bring that perspective into the work I do.
As a supporter, I’m someone who shows up consistently. I’m patient, honest, and a good listener, and I try to create a space where people feel safe being themselves without fear of judgment. I tend to be pretty practical, too - I like helping people figure out what actually works in their day-to-day life, whether that’s building routines, working through challenges, or finding small ways to feel more grounded and in control.
I feel especially connected to people who are dealing with substance issues and recovery or going through life transitions, as well as those working through things like co-dependency, self-harm, or questions around identity. I care deeply about helping people build self-awareness, recognize their own worth, and start to feel more confident in who they are.
To me, this work is about being real - acknowledging the hard parts while also making space for joy, balance, and growth. I want people to feel like they can move forward without carrying everything alone.
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, being creative, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with my cats. I like simple things and routines that help me stay grounded, and I often bring that same approach into how I support others.
