Independent Contractor: (CCS Program)

At The Roots LLC contracts with self-employed providers to deliver mental health and substance use recovery services through the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program. These services support youth and adults navigating mental health challenges, substance use, and trauma-related experiences.

This is a true 1099 contractor role. We contract with individuals who have a current LLC, EIN, or documented self-employment history. All contractors must carry their own professional liability insurance. Applicants should be fully prepared to manage their own schedule, taxes, documentation, and business needs.

Key Details:

  • CCS-only work (no other programs)

  • Flexible scheduling (minimum 20 service hours/month)

  • Independent work in your own community

  • Paid monthly as county funds are received (30–60 days typical)

  • Responsible for documentation and invoicing

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide 1:1 services aligned with CCS service goals

  • Use lived experience to model recovery, resilience, and empowerment

  • Attend team meetings and maintain required training

  • Submit timely, compliant service documentation

  • Maintain eligibility and insurance requirements

Requirements:

  • Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or trauma

  • Relevant certification (e.g., WI CPS) or equivalent experience

  • LLC, EIN, and current professional liability insurance

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

  • Tech skills for documentation, email, and virtual meetings

  • Strong communication and professional boundaries
