Celebrate World Belly Dance Day with Us!

Join us for a joyful and welcoming World Belly Dance Day Workshop on Saturday, May 10th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in the River Room at the L.E. Phillips Library, Eau Claire.

No experience required—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to move! Whether you’re a total beginner or just want to try something new, this is a chance to explore the rich history, culture, and beauty of belly dance.

We’ll explore:

  • The history and cultural significance of belly dance

  • A look at traditional costumes and accessories

  • Simple, empowering movements to get you dancing

This workshop is about more than dance - it’s about celebrating self-expression, body positivity, and connection. Moving together in a supportive space can lift your mood, reduce stress, and help us all feel a little more present in our bodies.

Our facilitators are peer support workers (not professional dance instructors!) who use belly dance as part of their own mental health and wellness journey. They’re excited to share this practice with the community, and to create a space where everyone feels welcome and included.

Let’s celebrate culture, connection, and the joy of movement—together.

All are welcome!

This event is completely free!

We just ask that you register at least 24 hours in advance so we can plan accordingly.
